And it’s not all about passing. I couldn’t buy binders or anything while I was still at home with my parents, so for years I couldn’t pass. But just knowing that I understood that part of myself helped a lot. 
You don’t have to be stick-thin to pass, anyway. I’ve even had friends comment on the fact that my big bum is never going to pass for a boy’s. And yet I’ve passed in the street, at clubs, with those same friends deliberately saying, “she’s with us” so that the bouncer would click. But he didn’t.
