What’s that?
What d’you mean ‘Franky, you’re a student’?
What d’you mean ‘Franky, seriously, you haven’t got enough disposible income to start wasting it on Classic Who DVDs’?
You don’t know me.
You don’t know my life.
You’re not my mother.

You’re my mother.
Does that count?
Is that legitimate grounds to question your life decisions?

That, I grant you, does make me start seriously thinking about my life choices.

This is because I’m only the sidekick again, isn’t it?
Well, I’m sorry not all of us can be the leading man, ma. I’m still a hero. I still have fans.

Of course you do, dear. I’m sure you have lots of fans.
I’m just glad your father isn’t here to see this…

Well, I’m sorry we couldn’t all be Capable Girl.
Y’know, some people like sidekicks more. We work just as hard, and we never get the same credit.

Yes, dear. Of course, dear. All I’m saying is that if you’d worked harder at school you could’ve got into the Superhero Academy instead of the Sidekick Polytech.
But what do I know? I’m just your mother.

You know the test was harder that year. Hardly anyone got in.

You shouldn’t compare yourself to how other people did.
Other people not getting in doesn’t make it any better that you didn’t get in.

Whizz said the test was harder that year. And hir dad’s one of the examiners.

Oh, well, if Whizz says so then it must be true.

You’ve never liked any of my friends.
